One of my all-time favourite nurseries to go to is @robertplantegreenhouses ! They have a MASSIVE selection of plants so you’ll be sure to find something you love. Not only that, but they have a really great plant pot selection, too. 🪴
We have an embarrassing amount of plants and pots from there and I have a feeling the collection will just keep on growing…

It’s beautiful outside today in Ottawa and what better way to spend some of my time than to go to one of my FAVOURITE stores 😍
That’s right, I’m talkin’ @wedeltouchofeurope ! I love this store and admittedly there’s a bit of a bias since I’m Polish, but everyone else should love this store, too. 🇵🇱🇵🇱
They have an amazing variety of dairy products, chocolates, european products, and of course, an amazing deli counter loaded with some of my favourite smoked meats.
What I got today!
⭐️ Smoked bacon for żurek (rye soup)
⭐️ Smoked sausage also for żurek
⭐️ Some rye bread
⭐️ Polish sausage on a bun (obviously)
You can’t just go to a Polish deli and not get smoked kiełbasa on a bun. I mean really. 🤔
They’re open all easter weekend for all your easter needs so head on over to try some of their delicious foods that are made in house, or grab something to go! You won’t be disappointed 🥰

Coffee Shop Hop Series Episode 2 ☕️
Welcome to episode 2 of my coffee shop hop series! The next café we get to visit together is @figarocoffeeottawa at their Ottawa Trainyards location!
When I walked in I was surprised to see just how many people were at the café at 2:00 in the afternoon! Despite being in a less central area, it was packed with people enjoying each others company while sipping on a cup of coffee or eating a pastry.
I tried their seasonal maple syrup latte, an almandine, and ended up getting some lunch and enjoying a tomato provolone soup 🥰🥣
The latte was delicious. The barista, who was super nice, made is half sweet for me and it was perfect. The espresso shot was pulled well and the drink was balanced 😍 10/10 would recommend the maple syrup latte before they take it off the menu!

Coffee Shop Hop Series Episode 1 ☕️
Starting a new series where I go coffee shop hopping with some friends.
Spent some time yesterday @hugoonbankstreet to try their supreme croissant. Let me just say, it was DELICIOUS. We got the matcha flavoured one and wow 😍
We also tried their toasted sesame seed macaron and it was the perfect level of sweetness and a fun flavour that I didn’t think would be as good as it was!
The vibe is super inviting and cozy, service was super friendly and we can’t wait to go back 🥰

Yes. Yes it is, and it’s tucked away in a small corner of The Bay.
The home decor is actually really nice and the best part? It’s priced SO WELL. 😍
The vases I bought were only $12 each… I’ve seen the SAME ones elsewhere for almost $40!!
They’re currently doing a soft launch across Canada and Ottawa has one at the @cfrideaucentre and one at @stlaurentcentre

I was good and only bought what I went in for — which was a basket for my towels, but it was hard!

Architecture MYTH ❌
I’ve mentored a few young students and sat in on crits over the last few years and a question that I always seems come up is “Do I need to be good at design to become an architect?”
And the short answer is no. But the long answer is that it often depends on the school you go to and what firm you work at.
In my experience, school typically puts an emphasis on design — which isn’t a bad thing! Design IS important. It’s important to know what your clients want. As an architect it’s your job to take their “vision” and make it a reality.
That being said, it’s important to note that not everyone is meant to be a “design” architect. So if you’ve ever questioned whether you should or shouldn’t pursue it just based on design aptitude, keep reading…
There are SEVERAL types of architect jobs you could find yourself leaning towards. @archi_soup has a really good blog post that goes into detail about each and every one.
I plan on eventually posting an interview series on my blog about this but until then, here’s the list of jobs you could find an architect specializing in:
