I love entertaining, and entertaining for a holiday is no different. I don’t see myself as a particularly religious person, but some traditions just stick. Easter brunch is one of them. While I typically cook traditional Polish recipes for the holidays, I understand that that’s not everyone’s thing. I’ll save that for another post.
Whether you’re a planner or not, these 8 tips I have for hosting the best easter brunch are pretty straight forward and you can apply them to any lunch/dinner/event you might be hosting in the future.
Don’t have time to stick around? No problem! SAVE this pin so you can come back later!
Why I Love Hosting People
It’s no surprise to any of my friends that I love having people over. It’s even less of a surprise that I love feeding them. Whether it’s a dessert or a full-blown meal at Christmas, there’s nothing quite like feeding the people you love and seeing them enjoy your food.
Despite my love of hosting, I know some people dread it. Why? The planning, the prep, and the clean-up. It’s not easy preparing a whole meal for a larger group of people. You need to make sure you have enough food, enough drinks, dinnerware, and the list goes on.
But what if I told you that I could make the planning process a little easier? What if I told you that you wouldn’t have to think of any recipes, or even put together your grocery list? Well, you’re in luck because I’m here to help you plan the best easter brunch you’ve ever planned – and without breaking a sweat!
1. Plan Your Easter Brunch Menu Ahead of Time
Planning when hosting people is key. Depending on how elaborate you plan on going, you may need to plan well in advance to ensure a successful event.
“What is a good Easter brunch menu?”
Don’t worry, I’m here to guide you through it, and my free printable will make sure you feel confident during each and every step.
If you already have a menu in mind, you can skip to item number two HERE. But if you don’t, and you came here hoping for a sample menu, keep reading. I’ve got you covered.

2. Find Some Cute Easter Home Decor
Home decor doesn’t have to be expensive. Take a trip to your local dollar store or Walmart and you’ll be sure to find some staple pieces without breaking the bank. When you set your easter table, it doesn’t even have to be “easter themed”, it just needs to feel like spring.
Opt to get tulips and other spring flowers for the centerpiece of the table. If real flowers aren’t in the budget, the dollar store is sure to have some fake flowers that will do the trick! Keep colours light and bright to really set the mood.
If decorating easter eggs is part of your family traditions, go ahead and decorate some ahead of time. You can actually dye eggs by boiling them with onions skins or beets!
3. Go Grocery Shopping!
Ideally you want to go grocery shopping the day before or a couple days before your brunch so that you have time to prepare a few things in advance.
The best way to do this as efficiently and cost effectively as possible is to create a grocery list. If you’re not sure what you need for the sample menu I’ve provided above, don’t worry, my free printable covers all of that!
There are some staples you will obviously need like cooking oil, salt, peppers, a few spices, etc. Make sure you have these at home before going grocery shopping!
4. Get Yourself A Helper!
If you have someone who can help you prep for your Easter brunch, I’d highly recommend it. Any time I’m hosting people, it’s always so much easier to have some tidying up the kitchen as I cook everything.
If your helper has an eye for table setting, why not let them set the table and pretty it up? It’ll take one thing off of your plate and help you feel less stressed out about it.
5. Set Up Your Coffee/Tea Station Ahead Of Time
There’s nothing more stressful than leaving everything until the last minute when you’re about to have people over. If you plan to serve tea, coffee, or any other drinks at your brunch, I highly recommend setting up your drink station the night before.
The Night Before
Put out teaspoons, cups/mugs, saucers, plates, sugar, and anything that’s a physical item.
The Day Of
15-20 minutes before your guests arrive, put out an assortment of tea bags that you plan to offer, put on a pot of coffee or turn on your espresso machine. I would wait until people start arriving for you to put milk or cream on the table.
6. Meal Prepping Your Easter Brunch – The Night Before
Believe me when I say that the best thing you can do to have the best Easter brunch is to do as much ahead of time as possible. Based on the recipes I provided above, here’s what you can do the day/night before (depending on what you chose):
- Fruit Salad
- Do keep in mind that if you’re using apples or bananas, these will brown overnight so if you wanted to use them add them no earlier than 15 minutes before your guests arrive.
- Wash the fruit you plan on using for your Maple Granola Parfait so that it’s ready to go in the morning.
- Prep your French Toast Casserole and put it in the fridge overnight.
- Prepare your Savory Prosciutto and Swiss Dutch Baby batter and put in the fridge overnight.
- Make your Baked Parmesan Hashbrown mix the night before.
- Prepare your Quiche mixture without sprinkling the cheese on top and put it in the fridge overnight.
- If you don’t plan on making bread, head over to your local bakery to grab some. If you have the time to go the morning of and want french bread, you could also do that.
7. Meal Prepping Your Easter Brunch – The Morning Of
Once the big day has arrived, it’s time to tie up all those lose ends! Here’s what you’re going to want to do for meal prep in the morning (once again, this will depend on what you chose):
- Dress your Fruit Salad shortly before your guests arrive.
- 15 minutes before your guests arrive, put out any dairy items like milk, cream, butter, yogurt, etc. At this point you can also put out the granola, any jams, maple syrup, or honey you plan on using. Essentially now is the time to put out all the condiments.
- You’ll need to bake your French Toast Casserole.
- Bake your Savory Prosciutto and Swiss Dutch Baby.
- Bake your Parmesan Hashbrowns.
- Add the shredded cheese to your Quiche and bake it.
- Set up your DIY Smoked Salmon Bagel area.
- Arrange cured meats on a plate.
- Make your eggs of choice.
- Put out your snackable vegetables.
- Make your mocktails (if you decide to make special drinks).
